Appleton, WI—When the 2009 Traxxas TORC Season presented by Amsoil came to a close in Las Vegas so did the Offroad Superfan Season Challenge. It was a closely contested competition for bragging rights and prizes between some of the most rabid short course Offroad Superfans as well as novice fans trying to use their wits to pick key selections. When the dust cleared, one person was clearly on top of his game. Dan Bergin, aka Hank, is the 2009 Offroad Superfan Challenge Winner. We asked “Hank” what his thoughts were when he was notified of his feat, “Some racers were easy picks with solid programs every year. Some were just guesses that worked out for me. The Offroad Superfans have a great idea here. Showing early season support for your favorite drivers can help teams kick it in to high gear to get ready for the season.” Dan will be receiving race apparel from both Mike Oberg Motorsports and Douglas Motorsports for his achievement. The Offroad Superfans would like to thank these two fine race teams for making these prizes possible. We would also like to recognize some other participants for “The Pick of Picks”. · Super Buggy—“Niner” was the only one to pick Shawn Morris. I couple of years ago the offroad world didn’t know who Shawn Morris was; now we know he’s the 2009 Superbuggy Season Champ · Pro-2—“Niner” again, was the only one to pick Rob MacCachren in arguably one of the most stacked pro classes ever seen in recent offroad history. · Pro-4—Electic Bob and Nitro were the only ones to pick Huseman to be the top dog of the “Big Boys” · Surprise, NOBODY picked Scott Beauchamp for 2009 Stock Truck Champion. · Not a Surprise, nearly everybody picked Steinhardt for 1600 Buggy Champion Finishing second place in the Offroad Superfan Season Challenge was” Nitro”, followed closely by “Nate Dawg” in third. The Offroad Superfans would like to thank all that participated and look forward to holding the Offroad Season Challenge again in 2010.
